One anniversary this is: twenty years ago I moved to France (thanks to a 13-hour ride-sharing trip from Neustadt to Bordeaux all across the country with little to no highways… hail to student budgets). Except for some 6 months traveling around Eastern Europe (2010) and a little over a year of Pittsburgh (2018/19), I’ve been living in France ever since. January 13 has an additional vibe to it, since it turned into my birthday for many years thanks to Facebook’s virality.
